INTERVENTION for Rahul and Mahima - YEAR 2011
This year for the first time humanitarian interventions were made to two needed children.
Rahul and Mahima.
Rahul, a 6 years old boy, had a malformation of both legs that did not allowed him to stand up and to walk, so from birth he was forced to move only crawling, only with the strength of his arms. The surgery has been carried out by an indian orthopedic surgeon in a clinique of Agra. Surgery was followed by three different casts on both legs. Rahul is receiving each day one hour of physical therapy by a doctor at the orphanage and will go on for the whole year.
Mahima, is a 9-month old girl who was abandoned at the age of 5 months outside of the Institute. She had a malformation of the left foot that would not allow her to wear shoes, and much less to walk. Through the operation performed by the same surgeon of Rahul and after several casts, the foot is back to normal.
