When Simone has left us, he was eighteen years and nine months old.
When Simone has left us, he was eighteen years and nine months old. He was in love with the same girl since the middle school, but he never told her: I think she came to know about this on the day Simone died, as I am the one who told her. Simone was timid, reserved, also very discreet; but it had so many friends, he was reliable, the one driving the car on saturday night as he never had more than a beer. On Simone, his friends told me, you could always count. He lived in Indonesia with us, then in Singapore, went with his friends to England, and twice in the Usa to visit some cousins, and then visited with us India when he was 11; but his world was in his marvelous Rome, he was proud to have born here and, of this city, he loved just everything. He also loved skiing, swimming, diving from the tallest point he could: a brave boy, but never an irresponsible person. Also when he fought, and it has sometimes happened sometimes, it has been only for defending some friends in difficulty: he was not a violent.
To write these things, it could seem I want to do of him a saint, but this is the truth: Simone was a good son, he has never given us any problem, and he would have had a solid and balanced life. Nothing less than what we would have wished for him.
Simone was a healthy and sane boy, he hated drugs, he loved life and friends, family and... of course "soccer", his only great passion. He used to look at everything as a beautiful game and this often costed him the of some more severe teacher, but he was so much loyal and correct to prefer the uncomfortable rigidity of some teachers, rather the ambiguous elasticity of others. He was timid with the girls, effusive with his friends and reserved at home, but he never missed to embrace and kiss us, as he used to do when he was a little child...
He was surely himself in every single action of his.
For all those that have known Simone and have been close to us in our pain, we offer a review of memories. Continuing to love him as we used to do, is our greatest wish.
